Organic White Rice

Our Organic white rice is a premium quality medium grain white rice with a delicious flavour and texture. As with all white rice, it has undergone processing to remove the outer husk, bran and germ that give brown rice its distinct brown colour. It is then polished and ready to serve. This process for white rice extends it shelf life, hence it lasts longer than other brown rice varieties in storage.

Our organic white rice is a variety that works well in both paella and risotto dishes, or as a simple side to stir fries, casseroles or curries.

Why Organic?

Organic food is food that has been grown or processed without synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, irradiation, industrial solvents, or chemical food additives hence there is less opportunity for these substances to impact the body.

There are more than 40,000 different varieties of rice, however, only around 10% are grown commercially.

It takes approximately 5,000 litres of water to produce just 1 kilo of paddy grown rice — enough to fill up half of a small swimming pool!
