Why Activated Buckwheat:

According to Loving Earth, activating foods is the same as sprouting in terms of consolidating the nutritional properties. Activation consists of soaking the seeds in filtered water to release the enzyme inhibitors, bringing the seeds to life. Enzyme inhibitors exist to keep the seed dormant as it waits for the right conditions to germinate. This means they also prevent the nutrients in the seed from being released into your body when you eat it. Activating does away with these inhibitors, making it easier for the body to absorb the nutrients.

Tips from Loving Earth:

In winter – add 1/2 cup Buckinis to 3/4 cup of your favourite milk and gently heat on the stove top.

In summer – add your favourite milk or yogurt and pile on the seasonal fresh fruit.
