Celery Seed (250g)

Celery seed comes from the dried seed pod of the Apium graviolens plant – a member of the parsley family. The seeds are very small, light brown in colour and ovoid in shape. They are grown mostly in regions of India today, however history shows they were used as a medicine as far back as Ancient Greece. The seed tastes very similar to the vegetable and is useful for adding flavour to soups, potato bakes or mash, or sprinkling over a vegetable salad. Celery seed has a warm, slightly bitter and aromatic flavour.
