Cinnamon spice comes from the inner bark of the a group of trees in the Cinnamomun genus. It is one of the oldest known spices, being used by the ancients and celebrated for its medicinal properties. With its delicious flavour and scent, cinnamon is used today in both savoury and sweet cuisine around the globe.

Cinnamon is commonly used in baking and particularly added to cakes, biscuits and muffins. It is also often used to sprinkle over desserts, chopped up fruit or pancakes. Another common use for cinnamon is the popular cinnamon toast. Just toast up your favourite bread (or fruit bread), spread with butter or dairy free margarine and sprinkle your cinnamon over the top – delicious.
