Paw Paw Spears
$19.90KG
Product Description
Dried paw paw spears are made from the fresh paw paw fruit, which is grown in many tropical areas around the globe. The spears are thin strips of fresh paw paw that have been heated and dried removing the moisture. Once dried they are then dusted with sugar to coat.
Paw paw spears make a great snack on their own, or you can add them to some of your favourite dishes to make them more interesting.
Recipe ideas:
A serving of minced or diced papaya spears goes well in yogurt, over ice cream, in cookie or bread dough, with trail mix or in smoothies. Since the length and weight of paw paw spears vary, use weight, rather than the number of spears, to determine your serving size.
Interesting Facts about Paw Paw:
It is believed that if you get stung by a jellyfish, rubbing the area with the skin of the pawpaw will bring instant relief!
Paw paw contains an enzyme called papain, which is great for tenderising meat.
