Health benefits of Nettle tea
Nettle tea has a long medicinal history and was found to be used commonly in medieval Europe. Today, it is widely used as a medicinal tea or simply drank as a gently flavoured hot drink. Nettle is probably most well known for its blood cleansing properties as well as acting as a diuretic (kidney cleanser). It can help with urinary tract infections, prostate enlargement, hayfever, joint pain, gout and anaemia. Researchers say that it can reduce inflammation and pain mediators in the body.
How to use
The subtle flavour of nettle goes well in combination with licorice or peppermint, or both together and is simply steeped in hot water. It is best consumed when hot.
