Health benefits of Licorice
Licorice is known for its anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-ulcer properties and despite it being 30-50 times sweeter than sugar, it is a proven anti-diabetic. It is not sugar, but the compound glycorrhizin that provides the sweet flavour and also is responsible for the health properties of licorice. This richly flavoured tea can also give you anti-inflammatory and immune modulating effects and can also act as a laxative. Another powerful property of licorice is its soothing qualities.
