These sweet little Carob Cherry Bites are a ready made treat in themselves. They are very popular with children and a great alternative to the chocolate covered ‘Cherry Ripe’ – in fact that almost taste the same.
Carob Cherry Bites are gluten free and so are suitable for those with intolerance or coeliacs disease.
In the Kitchen:
Slice 1 or 2 carob cherry bites into quarters and serve in combination with nuts and seeds as an afternoon or after school snack.
Interesting Facts About Carob:
The carob tree is a large evergreen tree producing sweet carob pods that are technically classified as legumes. It is known also by its beautiful botanical name Ceratonia siliqua. The carob tree is native to the Mediterranean and Western Asia where it has been cultivated for thousands of years.
