Natural Muesli

Muesli was discovered as a breakfast cereal at the beginning of the last century by a gentleman by the name of  Maximilian Bircher-Benner, a Swiss physician and nutritional pioneer who’s first recipe consisted of oat flakes, raw apples, condensed milk, nuts and lemon juice.  Dr. Bircher-Benner was considered a pioneer for his work in nutritional medicine and believed that much of the sickness experienced by his patients could be alleviated with increased exercise and a more nutritious diet.  A great start.

Our own natural muesli is a beautiful blend of nuts, wholegrains and dried fruits including whole oats, sultanas, sesame seeds, pecan nuts, almonds, cashew pieces and dried pineapple. Not only does it taste delicious but it is also high in protein and fibre and low in fat, containing many vitamins and minerals particularly found in the nuts and seeds.

Serving Suggestions:

Try a small amount as a sprinkle over yoghurt or fresh fruit, or on its own with almond or coconut milk. The perfect healthy breakfast to start your day.
